Music

British Rock/Pop bands' sentimentally similar sounds.

Track 11 (Walking Down The Hill / Some Sad Song) on Travis' 2003 album 12 Memories contains a piano melody strikingly similar to Track 5 (Clocks) from Coldplay's 2002 album A Rush of Blood to the Head.
The 11th and last track on Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head is named Amsterdam. The 12th and last track on Travis' album The Boy With No Name (2007) is named New Amsterdam.
The liner notes of The Boy With No Name album thank Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay.

Coldplay perform a cover of the Embrace song Gravity, on the 2nd disc of the special Dutch edition of their 2005 album X&Y. The 8th track on Embrace's 2005 album Out of Nothing (2005) album is a song named A Glorious Day; a title that is a lyric in the 11th track (Lucky) on Radiohead's album OK Computer (1997). Athlete's sophomore album is titled Tourist (2005), which is also the name of the 12th and final track on Radiohead's OK Computer. Additionally track contains the lyric "plastic flowers", similar to the track name and lyrics of Fake Plastic Trees, from Radiohead's 2nd album The Bends (1995).

The 2nd track (Is It Any Wonder?) on Keane's sophomore album Under The Iron Sea contains an opening distorted piano riff that sounds similar to U2's Zooroopa. The song Is It Any Wonder? contains the lyric "Is it any wonder that I feel uptight", the last word of which ("uptight") forms the chorus of the 5th track (Subterranean Homesick Alien) on Radiohead's OK Computer. Is It Any Wonder? also contains the lyric "Maybe it's a puzzle I don't understand.", which is prevalent in parts throughout several Coldplay songs, namely: Things I Don't Understand, Poor Me, and Talk.

The 14th and final track on Radiohead's 6th album Hail To The Thief (2003) is named A Wolf At The Door. The 2nd single (preceding their first CD) released by Keane was a custom made CD named (and containing the title track) Wolf At The Door (2001).

The 5th track on Keane's debut album Hopes and Fears (2004) is named and contains the lyric Your Eyes Open. The 1st track of Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head is named Politik, and contains the chorus lyric "Open up your eyes." Snow Patrol's 4th album is named Eyes Open; the 10th track is named and contains the lyric Open Your Eyes. The 6th track on Travis' The Boy With No Name is titled and contains the lyric Eyes Wide Open.
